MARRY ME WHITE BEANS SUBSTITUTIONS

You can easily customize these Marry Me beans to make them your own! Here are some ideas:

  • Sub the onion for 1 minced shallot for a more delicate onion flavor.

  • If you’re not concerned with keeping this recipe vegetarian, chicken broth may be used.

  • To lower the calories, use half and half instead of heavy cream. The sauce will not be quite as rich but it will still be delicious.

  • For the beans, you can use butter beans (also called lima beans), great northern beans or cannellini beans (also called white kidney beans).

  • Mix in a little parmesan cheese for cheesy flavor and you can also add shredded mozzarella cheese over the top.
