This healthy homemade is always a breakfast favourite- and easier and cheaper than store-bought. Flavourful, naturally-sweetened and crunchy, recreating this simple granola recipe at home is quick and easy!
INGREDIENTS
2 1/2 cups large flake oats
3 tbsp cinnamon
1 tsp salt
1/3 cup maple syrup
1/4 cup pecans (or any nuts/seeds/dried fruit of your choice)
1/4 cup melted coconut oil or olive oil for more savoury granola
TO MAKE
Preheat oven to 350F. Line a baking tray with baking paper.
Combine all ingredients in a medium bowl and mix it together well until all fully combined and coated.
Spread the mix out onto the baking tray in an even layer. If you want some chunky bits, press it down flat with the spatula.
Bake for 15 minutes then give it a mix, moving all the edge bits into the middle so that it’s all browning evenly.
Bake for another 10 minutes.
Remove from oven and let it cool on the tray, at least 45 mins before breaking apart with your hands and transferring to an airtight container.
