INGREDIENTS
1.5 ounces Proper Twelve Whiskey (or whiskey/bourbon of choice)
2 ounces grapefruit juice, freshly squeezed
1 ounce lemon juice (can also use lime)
1 ounce simple syrup
1/2 ounce egg white (optional)
Garnish: Maraschino cherries, sugar for glass (optional)
TO MAKE
Add whiskey, grapefruit juice, lemon/lime juice, simple syrup and egg white, if using, to a shaker, and dry-shake for 30 seconds without ice.
Add ice and shake again for 15–20 seconds, until well-chilled.
Strain into glass over fresh ice, or into a coupe without ice.
